For over 3 years my Canon A70 has served me loyally, producing really impressive photos (under the right conditions).
Some time ago, it decided to shoot only purple photos, and even though the effect was interesting, it wasn't quite what I was aiming for ...
All the mean while, the Canon A70 was laying around, gathering dust. With it's warranty long gone, I decided to take a look at it, maybe even fixing it myself.
After unscrewing a screw or two, I realized this is no easy task, and that it might be a bit easier if I give up on the whole assembly-the-camera-back part.
1-hour later, after removing 30 tiny screws, damaging 2 screwdrivers, breaking stubborn plastic pieces and getting electrocuted (twice!) by the flash capacitor - the camera was fully disassembled.

It has some really fun parts in it, like the super-powerful magnifying lenses and tiny motors controlling zoom and focus inside the lens. Polarizing plastic sheets in the LCD screen, the CCD sensor, a really (really!) strong flash capacitor, an internal battery i didn't know existed and lots of other cool stuff.
Only with it's demise, the Canon A70 truly found itself on the other side of the lens.
Color (or Colour) Lovers is all about colors and people who love them.
It has user's favorite colors, color pallets, blogs entries and the usual web community features.
What's nice about it is that you can search for a specific color, and find samples of colors people love, or just browse the most favorite colors.
You can then use these colors in your graphic design, web-site scheme or anything else your might want to colorize.
Today is Israel's Independence day, the 59th to count.
Last night parties and celebrations were held all over the country, including Ashdod. With my plans to go out and get drunk being abruptly canceled, I went out to shoot the masses.
Here are my photos of the street celebrations, including a short (but ecstatic) performance by Skazi, and some local high-school bands & dancers on one of the public stages.

I was surfing the Google web, trying to find an answer to why hot water feels cold when it first hits you in the shower.
It's something that has bothered me so much that I actually looked it up.
As you can guess, others have pondered this before, so I found some results.
It seems to have something to do with evaporation of the first drops, taking more heat energy in the process than they contribute in the first place.
Fascinating .....
In an unrelated matter, this result showed up, saying - you would live longer if you take cold showers ..
Well, that might be true (or might not), but now I have to I ask:
Why would one want to live longer if all his showers are cold ??
Just some Googly nonsense.
South Park's "The Snuke" episode is an ingenious parody episode on "24".
In sync with the new season of 24, a Muslim kid comes to South Park and Cartman unveils a conspiracy to detonate a nuclear bomb, which is just a diversion to a bigger more elaborate invasion from an old American enemy.
One of the best South Park episodes yet !
With Hilary Clinton caught in the crosshair, the episode even made it to CNN:
You might or might not have seen this clip of a stand-up comedy routine spoiled by a hysterical (and inhuman) laugh:
Operantly one girl has recorded herself watching the video:
While you're watching ... in case you're asking yourself how long does this go on ?
Well, it goes on and on and on ......... and on ...
So please, whatever you do, do NOT record yourself laughing at this girl or this will never end ..

Barwaj is a small Israeli band, playing progressive rock & blues, with a unique vocalist (Tamar Hochstadter).
A while ago I was introduced to one of their songs - Canada USA, it's nasty and unexpected. I also love the sax (played by Alon Braier), it's not heard much in Israeli music.
They have two songs available in their My Space page for free (Canada USA and Chalil Tzad).
Though to be honest, I wasn't able to track any other songs by Barwaj anywhere, at all.
Rock on !
In an attempt to take control over my ever growing music library (in contrast to the not so growing hard-drive space), I've sorted out my Infected Mushroom collection. From over 150 mp3's it's been narrowed down to just below 100.
It's an improvement, of sorts..

There has been a lot of hype in the recent years about the theory of evolution being the only creation theory thought in schools.
Well, I don't usually dismiss anyone's beliefs as false or ridicules, but this creationist's rumble is just plain stupid !
God help dumb people.
